All Smiles
Production produced and performed by professional theatre artists and designers.
Created by Samantha Provenzano
How do you smile? With your mouth or with your eyes? Does it show on your face or just on the inside? We all have different ways of showing, sharing and processing our emotions. All Smiles is a joyful, interactive performance that celebrates the full spectrum of emotion – because every feeling is a good feeling. Through color, movement, sound, and play, we invite our youngest audiences to explore what it means to feel happy, sad, surprised, calm, and everything in between.
Adapted by Little Blue Theatre Company in partnership with Autism TN and the All Access Inclusion Network at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s TRIAD program, All Smiles is designed from the ground up to be fully sensory-friendly. Every performance provides a welcoming environment where all ways of communicating, moving, and experiencing are valued. The piece invites children and their grown-ups to engage at their own pace—whether through laughter, movement, or quiet observation.
All Smiles reminds us that emotions are not problems to fix, but experiences to share. In a world where young people are often told to “calm down” or “cheer up,” this performance offers something radical in its simplicity: the freedom to feel, knowing that those feelings are OK.
Journey of the Noble Gnarble
Presented by The Blue Sky Ensemble
Our 8-12 year old Students
Book, Music & Lyrics by Denver Casado
Based on “The Journey of the Noble Gnarble” by Daniel Errico Illustrations by Tiffany Turrill
The ocean floor is filled with the rarest of creatures, but none are as rare as gnarbles. Their fins are small, their tails are floppy, and they have never strayed far from their homes…until now. Journey of the Noble Gnarble is a story of a little gnarble with a big dream, who tries to make it past doubting blyfish, sneaky subbalubbles, and hungry plinks on his way to the surface of the sea. Along the way he befriends the glinny glims who teach him the importance of positivity and determination!
The Conference of the Birds
Presented by The Indigo Ensemble
Our 13-18 year old Students
Based on the poem by Farid ud-Din Attar. Stage version by Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carrière.
The Conference of the Birds is a soaring, reimagining of the 12th-century Sufi epic poem by Persian poet Farid ud-Din Attar. It tells a story about the birds of the world who gather together in a time of uncertainty. Led by the wise Hoopoe, the birds set out on a journey to find their mythical king, the Simorgh. Together they traverse the Seven Valleys – each one a test of faith, courage, and self-understanding – as they face challenges, doubts, and the cost of transformation. This timeless story, brought to life through movement, music, and wonder, invites audiences of all ages to reflect on community, loss, and the power of self-discovery – reminding us that what we seek may already live within us.
Tickets, auditions, and performance dates soon to come.
